I’m going to tell you a story.
Once upon a time there was a little girl called Shirley. Her mum said
her nose was always stuck in a book. Indeed it was because Shirley loved
reading. Her favourite books then were ‘The Borrowers’ by
Mary Norton and ‘The Naughtiest Girl in the School’ series
by Enid Blyton.
When Shirley grew up she became a Primary School Teacher. She especially
enjoyed story time with her classes at the end of the day. She would
stretch the children’s imaginations with exciting tales from authors
such as Roald Dahl, Dick King Smith and C. S. Lewis.
One day Shirley decided to write her own book.
She had visited many countries and lived in Egypt for a while. She fell
in love with Egypt’s history, people and culture and her first book
called ‘Scarab Eyes’ is set in Cairo.
Shirley also enjoys writing poetry, for adults and children.
Please write to Shirley and let her know what you think about her books. Shirley keeps a daily writing blog here.
